Let’s talk pie. 

What’s your favorite? 

The first graphic, courtesy of GE, demonstrates data stating Pumpkin Pie as the clear winner of America’s favorite Thanksgiving pie. 

Any surprise here?  Pumpkin is followed by Sweet Potato Pie, Pecan Pie, and lastly Apple Pie. Poor Apple. We still love you, Apple Pie. 

We like to mix it up with a pecan pie topped pumpkin pie, or a pear blueberry streusel pie, or a tart cherry custard pie.  
Any way you slice it, it’s all yum.  

Important food safety note: Be sure to refrigerate your pies. Food is safest from pathogenic growth when stored *below 41°F* and *above 140°F*, so calibrate those thermometers.  
For our northern friends, who have a winter fridge (a porch that is cold in the winter season) it’s a good idea to keep a digital thermometer that will display temperature over time informing if your food was hanging out in the pathogen growth range during a sunny afternoon.

Save the pies!   

It’s good to see this second map demonstrate more pie diversity. This map is made of Google search trends for specific kinds of pie in the 30 days before Thanksgiving in 2023. 

Lastly, another interpretation of the map presented by GE, reimagined by Taste of Home, and represented by Newsweek. This is a fun map, just can’t find source data.
